I forget the guy's name. It starts with an S. He was gleefully rude and unhelpful. All I wanted was an update and all I got was rude, condescending, and clearly false lies and excuses. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being treated poorly.

Edit: Steve. Or Steven, was his name. Id expect nothing less than a response including a blatant lie. Thanks for proving my point about being unscrupulous home. From the looks of it, I'm not the only one to have been treated this way. You don't have anyone named Steve? Sure seems like at least one other person has had a run in with someone of the same name.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I gave them some simple feedback to tell them I didn't appreciate their use of shredded styrofoam (not peanuts, but secondhand shredded bits of styrofoam) for my shipment because it made a mess and got all over the room, and my one year old kept finding pieces and putting it in her mouth. They decided the appropriate response was to ban me from their auction (that part was fine with me), put a secret comment on my profile claiming I complained they "packaged too well", and then Steve thought it was appropriate to tell me I must not be a good parent. For anyone considering doing business with them, just know they are so thin skinned that honest feedback can lead to them trashing your Hibid profile secretly, and somehow lead to them commenting on your parenting. Wow. Quality people over there....

Edit: I figured you would come back and try to reframe things with inaccuracies. My exact words in response to the shipment were "Thanks for packaging my lots with a million pieces of scrap shredded peanuts and bits and pieces of tiny bits of trashed Styrofoam. It made an absolute mess and my 1 year old is trying to eat all the little pieces that have flown around the house. That's enough to not participate in any more of your auctions."

Not the most polite, but not "disparaging". As for referring to my actions as bullying....your secret disparaging comments on my profile (bidders can't see auction houses' comments) were used by other auction houses as rationale for not allowing me to participate in their auctions. So, the comments you're referring to in my profile are a direct result of your actions. Hence, the reason why I contacted you to remove them. Whoever it is that wrong your response should have been the one to reach out to discuss things like adults. I would have fired anyone that treated clients the way Steve does on the spot.

Bought a tv for $230 and it doesnt work. Atleast they could have put on the description doesnt work or not tested.

Response. Im sure you all would have stopped everything to plug the tv up when it was sitting outside god only knows how long in the moisture after you already have my money lol but good try though!

We defiantly got duped with art. There were piece they advertised as signed... they were not signed. If you can't go see it in person don't get anything. We lost tons of money assuming things were real via the photos, advertising "signed" and the sizes. Well the sizes are with frames which isn't clear, the photos don't give enough information an "signed" was just in the whatever printed signature in the pieces. All were forgeries or printed on someone's home printer. Again a ton of money lost on fakes and items improperly advertised. At least with art they are running a good racket. I'll included better photos later, but currently beyond embarrassed at how we we got played.

I understand the owner's response below, however again "signed" was not the reality of a signature that is already included in the print. Also giclee implies a level of quality, not a knock off home printer. These details are VERY important when 'print' buying... not 'originals' buying as prints can be a wonderful quality level, hence the value level. Happy to drive up and return the art my partner and I bought for a full refund!

I highly recommend no one try phone bidding with this company. Extremely unprofessional. They had an auction in Georgia. I am out of state and was interested in a piece. I called ahead of time and arranged phone bidding and discussed shipping options. When the piece I was interested in came up for auction I was called and bid over the phone. I was outbid. This was fine. About 10 minutes after I got off the phone from bidding I got a call and voicemail saying the winning bidder decided to back out and would like to sell the piece to me for my maximum bid and they would pay the difference. I confirmed with the auction house I would take the piece immediately and they confirmed. They said they would call after the sale to arrange shipment. Roughly 40 minutes after this conversation I got a text saying the original buyer decided to keep the piece and they wouldn't do anything about it. They then began ignoring my calls and texts. This situation was handled completely unprofessionally. Once I confirmed I would buy the piece from the bidder that wanted to back out it should have been mine. I will never deal with them and recommend using precaution as they do not handle situations professionally.
